Continuous Socionics (V. Talanov)

= “Most” or “excess” of this element. Could also be used to denote the ‘Base’ position in Model A. In the context of dichotomy traits, this could also be deployed in a similar fashion.
= “Least” or “deficiency” of this element. Could also be used to denote the ‘Vulnerable’ position in Model A. In the context of dichotomy traits, this could also be deployed in a similar fashion.

“Anti” Quaternions/Tetrads

denotes the tetrad/quaternion obtained by inverting all three of ‘s defining traits, even though this would be considered to be illegal in the classical representation of the types as a 4D vector space over , an approach I will tentatively dub “Discrete Socionics”. In Discrete Socionics, the three traits cutting out a tetrad/quaternion are never independent, with the third being the sum of the other two. Talanov, however, approaches this differently. In “Continuous Socionics”, a term coined by the Discord user “Feliens”, all of the Reinin dichotomies are linearly independent and exist in continuous space, so the “types” can be described in .

Example I: Quadras and “Anti-Quadras”

= Alpha {Judicious, Merry, Democratic}
= Beta {Decisive, Merry, Aristocratic}
= Gamma {Decisive, Serious, Democratic}
= Delta {Judicious, Serious, Aristocratic}

= Anti-Alpha {Decisive, Serious, Aristocratic}
= Anti-Beta {Judicious, Serious, Democratic}
= Anti-Gamma {Judicious, Merry, Aristocratic}
= Anti-Delta {Decisive, Merry, Democratic}

Example II: Temperaments and “Anti-Temperaments”

= Flexible-Manoeuvring {Extroverted, Irrational, Static}
= Receptive-Adaptive {Introverted, Irrational, Dynamic}
= Linear-Assertive {Extroverted, Rational, Dynamic}
= Balanced-Stable {Introverted, Rational, Static}

= Anti-Flexible-Manoeuvring {Introverted, Rational, Dynamic}
= Anti-Receptive-Adaptive {Extroverted, Rational, Static}
= Anti-Linear-Assertive {Introverted, Irrational, Static}
= Anti-Balanced-Stable {Extroverted, Irrational, Dynamic}

Addendum

is not exclusively for use when describing tetrads or quaternions, and may be deployed when describing elements belonging to a different partition space, such as dyads, for example, where instead of inverting 3 dichotomy traits, you invert all 7 of them.
